GED ProgramsGED programs prepare students for the General Educational Development tests, a group of five tests that if passed serve as the equivalent of a high school diploma. These programs are designed for students that are ready for a fast-paced and challenging academic environment. There are many types of GED programs. Some programs have open enrollment, meaning that they accept new students on a daily basis. Some programs implement managed enrollment which means that the program only registers new students on specified days. There are also different types of classroom instruction. Many programs use a one on one instructional method while others have a whole group instructional method. In addition to GED instruction, most GED programs offer literacy instruction for students who need more fundamental lessons.
