At the request of the USDE, we are pleased to facilitate a FREE workshop, Teaching Citizenship and Civics to Immigrants. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Office is conducting regional workshops nationwide to provide materials to help prepare immigrants for the citizenship test. Their expected outcome is to see a higher passage rate on the citizenship test than is currently found in Louisiana. The target audience for the workshop includes adult education supervisors, teachers and communty or faith-based organizations who work with immigrant students.

You will learn about:

• The naturalization test
• The naturalization process
• How to prepare students for the naturalization interview and test

Please consider attending and feel free to share this invitation with other interested persons/organizations working to promote U.S. citizenship for immigrant students.

A registration form is attached. Please fax the completed registration form to 202-272-1316 by April 5, 2010. You will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your registration. There will be no on-site registration.
