Kenneth “Kynt” Bryan

New Orleans, Louisiana native Kenneth Bryan, a Loyola University New Orleans graduate and the first student with a special double major BA in Communications and Dance, began his studies in classical ballet at the age of 19 as a freshman at Loyola University. Mr. Bryan continued his studies in New Orleans where he received full scholarship at the New Orleans Dance Academy, Ballet Hysell, New Orleans Children’s Theatre, and the Schramel Conservatory. Eager to take charge and diversify his classical training, Mr. Bryan moved to New York and later relocated to Los Angeles, California. Mr. Bryan returned to New Orleans where he taught ballet, hip hop, and jazz at NORD - New Orleans Recreation, New Orleans Dance Academy, performed as Principal Soloist with Ballet Renverser, Loyola Ballet, and as a guest performer with Komenka Ethnic Dance Ensemble. Currently Mr. Bryan, also known as New Orleans premiere international chart topping dance recording artist KYNT……with the bonafied global hit songs “Day After Day”, “We Can Work This Out”, “Makes Me Hot” and “Listen To The Music”, tours the world performing his massive hits, works as a freelance dancer/dance educator/choreographer, and performs classical and non-classical repertory. |

Catherine Spaulding

Catherine Spaulding hails from Charlotte, NC, but highly prefers the more eclectic community of New Orleans. She enjoys reading, writing, drawing, yoga, eating cheese, playing with dogs, and wandering the streets of New Orleans, looking at the architecture. She is passionate about literacy because she believes it can be a powerful tool against oppression. Oh, and she has yet to eat a snowball.

Glenn Day

Glenn Day was born November 22, 1989, in the city of New Orleans. He graduated from De La Salle high school. He currently attends Delgado community college. Mr. Day plans on becoming a fine arts teacher when he finishes college. He currently works with the Youth Empowerment Project through AmeriCorps. This is his second term with AmeriCorps. Last year, Glenn worked through the Catholic Charities program. He also volunteers with Job 1 and is actively involved with the cleanup projects around his neighborhood. When not active, he enjoys reading, video games, and drawing.

Carl Hutchins

Carl Hutchins, age 21, was born in San Antonio, Texas. His hobbies include reading and building things with his hands, and he believes that more knowledge is more power. Carl is actively involved with helping people. He's always felt that is something that needs to be done- everybody needs help even when they don't ask for it. Carl believes that you have to search hard to find out how to help people, and sometimes people just need a little help putting the final touches on what they're working on. Carl really enjoys seeing others succeed, and he gets a lot of joy from helping others reach their full potential.

Courtney Beaty
St. Bernard Adult Education
Courtney is a 28 year old mother of four. She currently works at St. Bernard Adult Eduation in Chalmette, LA. Courtney is also enrolled at Nunez Community College to become a paramedic this upcoming year. Although Courtney participated in the 2008-2009 Literacy AmeriCorps, she's excited for the new opportunities and challenges this year will bring. |
