Placement and Long Term Social Support

Placement into appropriate training or employment is a critical component of the Bridge Project. The 21 day class helps to get to know the participants, their strengths, skills and interests to help guide them toward the right placement at the end of the course.

Jobs: Employers, the Career Solution Centers and other community job search organizations are an integral part of the Bridge Project and participate through providing job descriptions, talking to the class about their copany, and making the participants aware ofall the additional job seeking services that are available to them. Employers receive in-depth information about participant attendance, motivation and skills as observed by staff.

Education: Participants are informed and encouraged to take advantage of continuing education opportunities in GED, community and technical college or higher education based on interest and skills. It is beneficial to partner with an adult education organization as the host site or as the instructor relationship helps the participants to continue their instruction.

Long Term Social Support: After training has been completed, the case manager works to make sure that each participant is still working on their short-term goals, which translates into employment retention, education completion, and job training completion.
